5 Top Tips for Grooming Your Cockapoo at Home
Keep your Cockapoo's curly coat in top condition between professional grooms with these easy home care tips.
Why Home Grooming Matters
Cockapoos have beautiful, curly coats — but they can mat quickly if not cared for regularly. A little effort at home between professional grooms goes a long way.
Our Top 5 Tips
1. Brush Daily (or Every Other Day)
Use a slicker brush and work in sections, starting from the ends and working up to the roots. This prevents mats from forming and keeps the coat fluffy.
2. Use a Detangling Spray
A light detangling spray makes brushing so much easier, especially around the ears and legs where mats form most often.
3. Check Ears Weekly
Cockapoos are prone to ear infections. Gently check inside the ear for redness or odour. If in doubt, bring them in — we can help!
4. Trim Around the Eyes
Use blunt-ended scissors to carefully trim any fur that falls over the eyes. This helps your pup see clearly and prevents irritation.
5. Book Regular Professional Grooms
Every 6–8 weeks is ideal for most Cockapoos. Regular grooms keep the coat healthy and make home brushing much easier.
